Alice Lee Lund, affectionately called Ali, was born in Williston, North Dakota on January 27, 1944. She grew up on the family farm outside off Williston, North Dakota and attended local elementary and high schools in Williston. At age 18, Ali moved to Missoula, Montana to attend the University of Montana. At the UM, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Education in 1966 and continued on to complete her master’s degree in Health & Physical Education at UM in 1969. Ali married and traveled extensively with her husband, eventually settling in Tipp City, Ohio where she and her husband adopted a daughter, Jessica. While in Ohio, Ali completed a master’s in elementary education at the University of Dayton in 1989. Ali also worked as a teacher during these years. Ali later moved back to Missoula, Montana, where she lived until she passed away from cancer in 2001.

Those who knew Ali knew that she loved life, including children, pets and the welfare of those in her community. As part of her legacy, Ali Lund created a Charitable Trust through which the Trustee helps fund various charitable organizations in carrying out their missions. It is not surprise to those who knew and loved her that the woman who dedicated her life to helping others would continue to do so after she passed away.
